The hamster keeps its eyes closed and stays motionless. It is most likely in torpor caused by low temperatures and cold exposure, or it is sending out a distress warning due to illness.

✅ Normal deep sleep (no cause for concern)
The body is relaxed naturally, with occasional slight squirming and whisker twitching. When touched gently, it will wake up quickly, raise its head and move around. Its body is warm, limbs are flexible, and breathing is steady and even.

✅ Abnormal state due to cold or illness (high-risk warning)
The body is tightly curled and stiff with eyes firmly closed, and the skin feels cold and hard. It responds sluggishly to light poking and barely moves. Breathing is faint with very shallow chest movement. Ears and paws turn pale and cold. It stays in one spot for a long time, refuses food and water, and deliberately avoids its surroundings.
